The duo, based in Kassel, Germany, brings together the contemporary dance-artists Marie Simson and Angela Elsa Reimuth.

The Kontrapunkt duo stops by to create a space for their dance using whatever resources are available... For this endeavor, the two clown-like figures follow the concept of “concept-free.”
Their most recent venue was the square around the obelisk on Treppenstraße, but any other public space—including schoolyards or hospital courtyards—could serve as a setting.
With an extensive collection of props made from makeshift everyday objects, the duo attracts the attention of passersby.
Volunteers are also being sought: Anyone who doesn’t want to simply stand by and watch is cordially invited to actively support the duo in setting up the new “dance house” or to let themselves be swept away by the dance segments...

A wink, a nod, a pat on the shoulder… Encounters take many nonverbal forms. We’ve already come a bit further, gotten closer, nearly touching... dynamics shift through bonding. Something begins to unfold between two individuals; both are swept along, resist, let themselves go, stumble, and discover new possibilities, rediscovering themselves in their shared experience. The atmosphere surrounding this affair is drawn from impressions of the world outside the stage and rehearsal spaces - the public urban space: environmental stimuli, everyday gestures, and chance occurrences shape the setting.

Driven by the question of how contemporary dance can be made accessible to a wider audience, the Duo Kontrapunkt relocates the rehearsals and performances
for the piece “Ausgesetzt” to public squares, parks and pedestrian precincts in the city of Kassel. Each rehearsal contains the potential of encountering different people with this art form. And arouses curiosity.... With their own artistic language, the Duo tells a story of mutual dependence, estrangement and reconciliation of two very specific characters. The narrative brings together a collection of moments of encounter that we hardly notice in the guise of everyday life, and stages them in an artistic guise, making their significance for our lives recognizable.
On Saturday, the performance will be musically accompanied by the flutist Ulrike Lentz.
A piece for all kinds of people of any age.
The places of performance are fully accessible and can be closely reached by public transport.
